   Our little Angel
A year ago descended our little Angel,
Smiling and shining from every angle.
Life changed from Day one of her arrival,
Sunrise, sunset and seasons sped for survival.

From cradle to crawling and from crying to coo-in,
Every moment is now precious and charming.
‘Sweet nothings’ changed their meaning,
Whatever uttered is music for listening.

Mom’s cutie-pie and Dad’s pet,
Surely she is our favourite.

May this little angel bring smiles and smiles,
With finer things of life for miles and miles.
May gods shower their choicest Blessings
With all the best in life for our darling.

Is it the first happy birthday of Lasyapriya?

The Winter Sun

      The winter sun

Rising at 8 AM and setting about 4 PM;
Sun too has eight hours of working time!!

Late for work and early for home at times,
For breaks he has many clouds and rains;

 ‘No’ he says for Overtime – work or wage
Economy always is in his adage;

Takes it easy with nobody's permission;
Indefinably is on his winter’s mission.

Temps low and tempers cool,
We wear our capes made of wool,

Hot tea or soup our most preferred drink!
Not to think of high- lands’ brew and wink.

Sun too has come of his age
Heat in rays is now a mirage.

I know it’s not his attitude
But the problem is with our latitude
From horizon to horizon in a tiresome arc
Sun moves up above at low altitude.

What is there to offer him anyway?
Who gives us light and life all the way!
Leaves so dry and water at freeze
And hot drinks of the night booked for ease.

We hold the morning papers folded in hand
And say our prayers in poetic admiration.

[note: if you find this poetically weak, it is because only frost is there and no Robort Frost !].
